Hey golden babes - how's your summer going? I can't believe it's already August. Even though the rest of the world is planning for cool temps and pumpkin spice right about now.. Texas has about 3 more months of this heat. I am seriously drooling over everything linen, beige, rattan, raffia and straw this summer (obvi). I fell in love with this wrap top the minute I saw it scrolling through IG and had to have it. I dream of one day owning an ethical wardrobe with pieces like this.. but for now, I will continue to be ok with buying them from Zara, because I already guilt-trip myself enough and forcing myself to buy ethical pieces that cost well over $200 is just not reality for me right now... and that's OKAY. It's not where I'm at but I will continue to buy pieces that I know I LOVE and really will be worn more than 3x. I truly believe that building your dream wardrobe and accumulating ethical pieces/slow fashion is a PROCESS. It takes time. It's okay to not build your wardrobe overnight. It's taken me years to really figure out what works for me, my body type, lifestyle and it is always changing - depending on work, events, jobs, and my environment. I don't like to hold back and that is why it's always evolving.
If you've been following me for a while now, you know I value makers and doers who really put all their heart and effort into making sure their brand and collections are giving people fair wages as well as providing jobs for people in need. I want to spread the word and value those who care more about a lifestyle and giving back than just the latest trends. Yes, I love trends but I also want to love them because I love them, not because other people do. What styles are you loving this season? Growing up by the beach, South Padre Island, I've always loved anything oceanic or shell-related. Therefore, this shell necklace trend is so deeply rooted in my heart and I CAN'T wait to get my hands on one like this by Shashi.
