OUTFIT POST
I wanted to share details about my outfit from the last night of Austin Fashion Week - FINALE.
I'm laughing posting these photos because I forced my lovely sister Lya to take these outfit pictures right as we got to the venue and was like, "hurry the sun in going down!!" and I somehow love the fact that there are construction workers and street cones (kind of a mess behind me - oh and a minivan wooh) while I'm wearing this pretty snazzy vintage dress.
It reminds me that we are all a mess at times.. no one is perfect and no one is as put together as their blog or Instagram photos look (I promise).
These photos are beautiful because my sister is NOT a photographer (however she did a great job :) , I am like always late, I was being bossy and felt bad after, I usually am rushing or being rushed, I changed 5 min before I left, I was starving and hungry, and I remember I cried twice that day - real life in the day of The Gold Atlas y'all. But hey, the day goes on and people like my sister and friend Roberta were so fun to be around and we enjoyed the crazy RANDOM hail storm that happened while at the AFW Finale and laughed about how insane Texas weather is⦠Xx
(more on the outfit details below)
This beautiful vintage salmon/coral dress has been sitting in my closet for years - YES YEARS. I have never found an opportunity to wear it but I just couldn't let go of it.. I found this gem at Buffalo Exchange a few years back with no intention of wearing it immediately but I knew it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen for under $20 (I KNOW). I love the way it flowed with huge sleeves and had a strange 70s aesthetic that stood out. I am not usually one for color in my daily outfits, I usually stick to neutrals, but when I go to events I shamelessly like to stand out and have a piece that no one else would have or even wear. I planned on wearing a red jumpsuit and just wasn't feeling it - you need to feel confident and love what you're in - especially if you're going to surround yourself with some of the best dressed babes in Austin.. so I changed literally 5 min before leaving as my sister was rushing me out the door! I was like .. screw it.. I'M WEARING it.. so glad I did.
I added some gold with a delicate little body chain I found at Aldo and same with the cute little rings. Aldo is not my place of choice but I had stopped in with a friend to check out the shoe sale and I came out with a little body jewelry. Whatever..I knew it would come in handy. ;)
